Twenty one year old Chelsea Basham grew up in the West Australian wheat belt town of Wongan Hills. The radio was loud and never far away, whether she was larking around with her two older brothers or working in her parents Retravision store. She loved the sound of the new breed of Australian country artists...Lee Kernaghan, Kasey Chambers, Troy Cassar Daley, Melinda Schneider, Adam Brand, Beccy Cole... and wanted to be like them. Chelsea entered talent quests and won a few including the Boyup Brook West Australian Junior Country Music Singer competition in 2006 and 2007 as well as the West Australian Junior Country Songwriter in 2007. She toured Western Australia with Lee Kernaghan at the tender age of sixteen and made her first pilgrimage to the Tamworth Country Music Festival the following January. Chelsea was hooked but smart enough to complete her education, graduating from John Curtin College of the Arts and the CMAA Country Music College. After making the grand final of Toyota Starmaker in 2010 she independently released her debut single and video "Truth About Me" which was embraced by radio and Country Music Channel. She then hit the road with McCalister Kemp, Kirsty Lee Akers and Liam Brew in the Guys, Girls, Guitar's and Bars tour. Chelsea spent most of 2011 preparing for and recording her debut album with producer Graham Thompson (Adam Brand, Melinda Schneider, The Sunny Cowgirls). The first single "I Make My Own Sunshine" is at radio now. The album relase date is August 25.
